Vape e-liquid is an indispensable combination for the use of electronic cigarettes. You may mention the PG and VG when you talking about the e liquid. So what is PG and VG in vape e-liquid?

PG and VG means Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin.

Vape Juice

In short, PG and VG are colorless and tasteless liquids, which belong to the chemical category technically. They are considered ethanol and are included in many consumer product. They are also widely used as food additives in a variety of food and personal care products, such as ketchup, soda, ice cream, and salad dressings. So is e-cigarette oil.

The VG main function is to provide vaping cloud. And the PG main function is to dissolve the fragrance.

As you see, the PG and VG liquid combine with flavor nicotine to produce electronic cigarette oil. PG based e-liquid is the most popular choice for most vapors and an excellent choice for those using e-cigarettes and smaller vaporizers. PG for vaping also produces a stronger throat hit, similar to tobacco cigarettes. So it is very good vaping experience taste for old school smoker. But the VG e-liquid has a sweeter taste which can make flavors difficult to detect and it has less of a throat hit than PG e-liquids. Vegetable Glycerin for vaping is considerably thicker compared to PG and has a slower absorption rate for wicks and cartomizers. It also tends to gunk up and clog vaporizers, requiring more cleaning.

What is the difference between PG and VG?

Viscosity: Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is relatively viscous, not easy to conduct oil, strong water absorption, and easy to dry mouth; Propylene Glycol (PG) is relatively thin and has strong liquidity.

Solubility: poor solubility of Vegetable Glycerin (VG); Propylene Glycol (PG) has strong fluidity and good solubility, which makes it easier to mix essence to create different layers and tastes of tobacco oil.

Sweetness: Vegetable Glycerin (VG) naturally brings sweet taste, and there is no need to add additional sweeteners to improve the sweetness of tobacco oil; PG basically has no sweet taste.

Smoke volume: The smoke volume of Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is larger than that of Propylene Glycol (PG). If you want to pursue a larger smoke volume, you can choose vegetable glycerin as the base liquid of tobacco oil.

Throat hit: Propylene Glycol (PG) provides a part of the striking sensation in the tobacco oil; Vegetable Glycerin (VG) basically has no impact on the taste, producing less irritation and allergy.

Safety: Propylene Glycol (PG) and glycerin (VG) are both pharmaceutical grade and safe products, but Propylene Glycol is a sensitive liquid, and some people may be allergic to it. The throat of the light person is uncomfortable, and the whole body of the heavy person is itchy, accompanied by dizziness and nausea. Different from person to person, if there is an allergic reaction, such people should choose VG as the base liquid of tobacco oil.

VG and PG proportion: mix according to your own needs, such as combination 30% VG/70% PG or combination 50% VG/50% PG, which is only for reference here. The proportion can be adjusted without fixed mode.

VG produces large smoke with sweet taste, PG blends and dissolves essence, with a sense of throat hit and small amount of smoke.

The above is the difference between VG and PG, I hope it will help you
